Changing the TV input on the Breakaway

Recommended Posts

Hi, only sailed the BA 3X during the past 3 years and from what I know, things hasn't changed YET ... difficult to anticipate whether they might be switching hardware before your summer sailing this year, but ...

It's Sole branded HDTV, institutional/hospitality-designed and firmware/hardware locked to block input source changes ... universal remote control aren't going to do anything. But, you can disconnect the "active" input on HDMI-1 and plug in your own HDMI cable (6' or longer, 10' is better) and you might need an power extension cord ...

It's easy to do this for those in a balcony stateroom but much more difficult to reconnect in an OV or Inside, due to its mounting method & location, permitting very limited tilt & sideway motion. Have a handy mini-LED flashlight handy to see what you are doing.

Expand my signature below & follow the link to the BA reviews done previously (esp. 2015) to see how & what, etc. Good luck & please reconnect for fellow cruisers before you disembark - caution: you will lose access to stateroom's interactive TV displays when the HDMI input is disconnected.
