ranchette Posted May 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2017 Can i bring $10 in quarters for the fare or 2 five dollar bills?
SailBadtheSinner Posted May 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2017 They will take either but coins are the preferred method of payment. Why not buy 2 tokens (if that will be your only trip where you need bus or ferry fare)? SBtS
ranchette Posted May 9, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 9, 2017 Where do you buy the tokens for the ferry?
SailBadtheSinner Posted May 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2017 Where do you buy the tokens for the ferry? You buy the tokens or Transportation Passes at the Visitor Information Centers. There are 3 at the Dockyard, one at each wharf and one near the ferry dock, See map below: SBtS
ranchette Posted May 16, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Can I pay the five dollars directly on the ferry or do I have to buy a token?
Charles4515 Posted May 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2017 (edited) Can I pay the five dollars directly on the ferry or do I have to buy a token? They will take cash. The "controversy" for lack of a better word, is whether that cash has to be exact change in coins or can be the exact amount in paper bills. The printed material is vague for he ferries. For sure you can't use paper money on the buses. Some have said their paper was accepted but they may have encountered a nice employee who took pity on the tourists. I can't help you there as the 30 to 40 times I have taken ferry trips in Bermuda I used either a transportation pass or tokens. It is really easy to get a pass or tokens. The map posted above your post shows where to buy them. The rides also cost less using tokens. Edited May 16, 2017 by Charles4515

navybankerteacher Posted May 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2017 You need to allow time for the line to get tokens - it can be pretty long.
