Balto. Guys Posted May 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2017 We will be on the Sunshine for the 1st time in September. We spend a lot of time in the casino!!! Playing mostly table games. How do you like the casino on Sunshine?
Davey Wavey Posted May 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Unless you really pay attention or look for a very specific game or slot machine, the casino on Sunshine is like the casino on other Carnival ships. They swap machines around, so it's hard to say with certainty that Sunshine exclusively has a specific game. My last time there, they had replaced about a third of the slot and coin machines with Wheel of Fortune stuff. Some of the card table games had also switched and they had new felt on all the tables. Don't know how temporary that was, but overall the casino is pretty well maintained (but smoky) and fairly active.
Mike and Jet Posted May 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2017 It is small in relation to the bigger ships Sent from my iPhone using Forums
oxymoron11 Posted May 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2017 I was just on the Sunshine April 28-May 6. There are two 3 card poker tables, 2 Ultimate Texas hold-em tables, 1 Let it ride table, 1 craps table, 2 roulette tables and several blackjack tables. While we were boarding they installed 6 new slot machines near the bar (88 cent) and they were hitting pretty well on min bets. There is one poker pro set-up. They have a new promotion, if you get a full house or better on the 3 card table (extra $1 bet) you get an invite to a tournament on 10-28. Straight flush gets your cabin paid and Royal flush gets you a suite and drinks. The casino was very quiet on our trip, no problems getting a seat at any table. Port of Tampa Posted May 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2017 We have been on the Sunshine 4x and yes I am in the casino all the time. It is s good casino as per Carnival ships...smoky yes but they all are. What date in September are you cruising...we are doing the Premier on 2 September out of NY. If that is your cruise the casino will be busier than usual because it is a casino special cruise with lots of heavy gamblers. Either way you will have a blast. Cheers and good luck
CharlesKru Posted May 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2017 I second what others have said. This casino seemed about the same as most ships. Larger than a Fantasy class, about the same as Dream or Vista Class ships Its been a few years since my last Sunshine cruise ( looking at a Bermuda next Sept ) but I recall and double checked with pictures that our last cruise they had just resurfaced all the table games. It was really nice playing on tables that the felt was brand new... no holes, stains or burns.. While others have said it is really smokey, I dont think it is any worse than any other cruise ship.. They are all smokey, and normally I get over it about 10 minutes into playing. I mostly play Craps, so I am always stuck in the middle of the smoking section.. Have fun!
