NurseMarla Posted May 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2017 We are looking at a cruise leaving out of Mobile in November. What is there to do on a Sunday night before we head out? Anything fun and family oriented? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

NurseMarla Posted May 14, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 14, 2017 I'll have to look into that. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Alatraveler1 Posted May 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Good seafood at waterside "shacks" on the causeway (they are actually pretty large restaurants), depending on the hour although dark early that time of year, there is a duckboat tour, and a mardi gras museum (actually first began in Mobile and not NO). There is the Exploreum science museum and IMAX is downtown as well.
airlink diva Posted May 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2017 I did a tour with Airboat Express in Mobile bay during 45th July week. The pricing is reasonable, the guides were excellent. I'm planning to do this again and suggest this to others who head to Mobile
Thorncroft Posted May 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2017 http://www.gulfquest.org/ Gulfquest Maritime Museum is right next to the cruise terminal. It has somewhat of a troubled history due to financial issues, so the hours that it's open may be limited. Check the website for hours of operation and new reduced pricing. It was built and they did not come, but by all accounts it's pretty cool. LOL.
NurseMarla Posted May 16, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Thank you everyone for your replies! We won't be arriving until around 3pm Sunday afternoon so I figure our options are pretty limited, just don't want to spend all that time in our room. What about restaurants? Any place you would recommend for a family? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Thorncroft Posted May 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 17, 2017 If you like seafood and have a vehicle, there are many good seafood restaurants on the causeway just a short drive from downtown, across the river. There are many good restaurants downtown, too. http://www.mobile.org/ http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/visitmobile/diningguide201718/index.php Click the retaurants tab for places to eat. Yes, I've looked at that guide several times, was wanting more of a "they have really good ..... here" or "you need to try .... from here" though. :) DH isn't a big seafood fan so wanting to find more of a burger joint or something that has a good variety. Its going to be us and 5 of our kids! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

LOL I usually eat at Chinatown buffet, a bit out of town, off of I-10 at exit 15. Good Chinese if you like that. Good luck.
Alatraveler1 Posted May 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Royal Scam has great steak sandwich, asian slaw tenderloin salad. Also have good steaks, duck and gumbo. Standard burgers with crisp fries for the kids to gourmet with pimento cheese and other toppings. Downtown close to hotels and port, $10-$20 range. Website available, four stars+ on tripadvisor, zomato and yelp.
