Hey all!

I have a few questions hoping someone can answer. I am planning a 40 Bday cruise for my husband for Oct 2018. I know RCCL always has a sale but I haven't been keeping up with them.

Is the current sale a good one? Should I wait for a better one? Currently I am looking at a Ocean Balcony room on the 12th deck for about $2300.

I also have enough points on the FB game MyVegas to get $250 on board credit.

 

If I book now and only put the $500 deposit down and the price goes down or there is a better deal with RCCL will they honor that if I call or send in a form like Carnival does?

If you will be booking under US/Canadian rules, I'd book now and watch for price drops. Royal will normally give you the lower price up until final payment date.

I re-read your initial post about sending in a form to Carnival. Royal does not work that way, unless you are booking after final payment date and taking advantage of their 48-hour price guarantee.

 

With Royal, you would contact whoever booked your cruise to get the lower price. So if you book with a travel agent, you would have to deal with them to get the price lowered.

In order to get the $250 onboard credit I have to book through the casino part of RC. I guess I would have to call them if it goes down. So, if I read it right, I can only get the lower price as long as I haven't paid the whole cruise off?

Not true, you should be able to get a lower price even if you have paid off the cruise. However, don't know for sure if booking through the casino changes the rules. I would ask them before you commit.

Even if you book through the casino you can get the price adjusted as long as it is before final payment date (even if you are paid in full as Bob stated). It's the date that's important. I have done this before. If it's after final date, you might be able to upgrade for a nominal fee. I once upgraded to an owner's suite for $49.00.
