Does anyone know if you are a Platinum cruiser if you have to go to Deck 5 and check in for a table assignment? I thought I read somewhere that if you were Platinum that you did not do this, that when you boarded and went to your cabin you would have directions of where to go for dinner.

I can confirm that in Nov'16 that Diamond, Platinum, and FttF had a "dedicated" line a the hostess desk on deck 3. BUT the rumor mill has it now that due to abuses that they are limiting it only to Diamonds. Personally I'm not sure how true the rumors are about the new limitation, but did witness on our Vista voyage several times at least one type of abuse of the system. What we blatantly saw was mostly were a single cabin's worth of passengers with the priority arrangements having 2 or more other cabins that were not priority (earned nor bought) accompany them to the desk but ask for separate but near each others tables.

Was on Vista a couple of weeks ago.

We had to go to Deck 5 to get our MTD dining assignment.

Never had to wait in any line. Walked up, got the assignment, went to deck 3 and they took us immediately to our table
