HoustonRose Posted November 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2005 Is there a restriction of size or amount of luggage to bring on?
goneclear Posted November 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2005 You are restricted by the airlines, so what your carrier allows you can take.
wrp96 Posted November 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2005 If you are flying, you are limited to your airline's bag restrictions. If you are driving to port, there are no limits - other than the fact that what you actually carry onboard with you and don't check with the porters must fit through scanners like at the airport. If it won't fit through the scanner, they'll make you take it back out of the terminal and check it with the porters.
captNcrunch Posted November 28, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2005 Is there a restriction of size or amount of luggage to bring on? If you are concerned about how much ...... you probably have too much!
kitty9 Posted November 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2005 For the airlines, no bag can be larger than a total of 62" when you measure the height, length and width of the bag. No bag can weigh more than 50LBS. Two checked bags per person and one carry on bag. Your purse or camera bag doesn't count toward the carry on limit. If you exceed any of those limits, expect to pay hefty fees to the airline. For the ship, a reasonable amount of luggage is acceptable, but they never say what's reasonable. If you're on a 7 day cruise, you shouldn't need more than one suitcase and one garment bag.
GRIFFITH1 Posted December 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2005 You Have To Remember That You Have To Store Those Bags In Your Cabin And The Space Is Limited There . Once You Pack , Take Out About Half And It Will Be Just Right .
Cotton Posted December 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2005 I agree. You're probably thinking about taking 'way too many outfits. You can so easily mix and match things, and lighten your load as far as clothing. You'll be surprised, and wish you had taken about half what you packed. About storage space in the cabins, there's plenty. Under the beds, in the closets...and one good idea is to put one empty bag inside a larger one for storage. Now - go unpack half your 'stuff'.:D

Unless you are going around the world, you should be able to keep it under 200 pounds per person.
Coolmama_1 Posted December 17, 2005 #9 Share Posted December 17, 2005 If you are concerned about how much ...... you probably have too much! Very true! We always had a family rule. Everyone carried their own luggage. If you couldn't handle it, it was too much!
springtxbill Posted December 18, 2005 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2005 200 pounds per person is the official limit, but they don't have scales to weigh it anyway, so there really is no limit.
