Harmony of the Seas - Questions

Recommended Posts

we are booked to have a wedding ceremony on Harmony of the Seas on the Feb 3, 2018 cruise. Had some questions.

Due to the costs of the meals when doing a buffet style supper Is there a seperate price for minors? (We have 60+ people of which 20 are minors and of the minors 15 are going to be under 10) and it is crazy to book out an a la carte restaurant.

They have also suggested the main dining room with a cordoned off area for the wedding group. Has anyone done this and how did they find it? Was it private? Was it too loud with outside noise?

If we choose to eat the supper at the main dining room but get married at Dazzles are we able to go back to dazzles for the reception? Or is there another option to have the reception? Or do people do the reception prior to going to supper? Ex. Wedding ceremony, cocktails/appetizers, reception, supper.

The photographer - if we book prior to the cruise (this was suggested to us) how long does the photographer stay with us? We want getting ready photos, wedding, reception)

Should we plan on having a photographer come with us or just use the photographer on board?

What are key things that we need to ensure we considor or do prior to boarding or that we need to communicate with he planner? (We want this to be as little stress as possible)

Some packages prohibit the use of your own photographer, so make sure you read the fine print and/or sign a waiver if you want to provide your own photographer.

We brought a photographer with us, and I'm so glad we did. Few advantages:

1. Quality. We knew the quality of the photographer going in. Some ship photographers are great, some are going to be new hires.

2. Time. I didn't want to risk having to rush something because I only had the photographer for x number of hours.

3. Coverage. Our photographer documented the whole trip. I can't tell you how special it is to look back on the special memories that were made outside the wedding day. Husband and I playing the newlywed game. Younger cousin trying escargot for the first time. The guys hitting up the casino for a black jack game.

4. Enjoying the moment. We never felt like we needed to take out our phones/cameras because we knew it was all being documented. It kind of surprised me how freeing this was. We did Alaska, and while we were watching the glaciers calve we just enjoyed the spectacular show. Everyone else was watching it through their camera and focused on catching just the right picture. You get the benefit of an unplugged vacation without giving up the photos.

5. Gift to our guests. It's not often families get so much dedicated time together. Because our photographer captured the whole cruise, our guests got some of their family vacation and time together documented as well.

Did you get all your answers? Im getting married next year on Harmony and would love some help. How did yours go? what did you do for the reception? We were thinking of doing just a cocktail hour after the ceremony. Could use some ideas. Would also love some pictures if you don't mind. My email is: dplatzner@yahoo.com. Thank you so much
