Holland America Misty Fjords flight seeing versus independent flight seeing

I want to book a flight seeing excursion to the Misty Fjords. I can do that through the ship (HAL Noordam) or via Island Wings. They are about the same price. The excursion description from the ship states that there is a brief landing, so I am trying to figure out what the difference between the two is. The HAL excursion does not list duration. Has anybody here taken the Misty Fjords flight seeing through Holland America and can tell me what their experience was?

We just took the Island Wings tour and two other planes landed after we did and then left before we did. We were there to enjoy the view a full 10 minutes or more than they were. Definitely would recommend Island Wings... excellent tour!

When are you wanting to fly - next week, next month, next year?

Are they both still available?

Do you have OBCs (On Board Credits) that you need to use?

I would choose independent if I could, but that was a whole lot of "I's."

I did in fact choose to book independently for a flight out of Ketchikan to see bears in Anan Creek. I booked in October 2016 for a July 2017 cruise - I did not want for it to be sold out...

Thanks. I am planning to fly on June 20th. When I checked both independent as well as cruise excursion was still available. I have no OBC, and the price between the two is similar. So it really comes down to the difference in experience.
