Carnival Overnight in Cabo not really overnight?

Hi all!

We are currently booked on the Splendor for next May. We currently have 6 cabins and may be adding more, so while the rooms are still fairly open, we may switch the date. The reason we are considering moving our dates out a couple weeks would be to sail on the 2 days and 1 night in Cabo itinerary. After further research here and calling Carnival (not a lot of confirmation one way or the other, but suggested a FTTF purchase to assist us in our tender times) I think I am seeing the tenders only run certain hours. I also thought I saw in a thread that a poster indicated that the ship pulls anchor and leaves the bay.

The reason it matters, is that that boys are really wanting to fish and I am concerned that the fishing boats usually leave the marina around 6am. If the tenders won't be of use at 5:30am, we may as well stay on our current sailing. Staying in a hotel overnight is not really preferred (an option I have seen offered as well) as there are 6 gentleman in our party so it would require 2 hotel rooms.

Anyone have any insight?

I appreciate any/all responses!!

You can stay overnight in Cabo. Just let the ship know. Carnival does pull out of the bay at night. The second day starts later than what you need.

Princess stays anchored over night. Depending on the state of the seas, tenders might or might not run all night.

This is great information! The laws for opening the casino make sense.

I was worried about if the weather changed, what would happen and it appears that my apprehension about the guys all staying on shore while all the ladies were on the boat has been confirmed. Thank you so much for confirming what I saw as a potential issue.

Possibly check to see if the fishing they want is available in Puerto Vallarta. Then check for the overnight in Puerto Vallarta itinerary instead of overnight in Cabo.

The ship stays docked for the overnight in PV. We did this one a couple years ago and loved it. You could come and go as you pleased for the whole time.
