Floridiana Posted August 28, 2017 #76 Share Posted August 28, 2017 No. But, he did write for several years for a quarterly journal titled Cruise Industry News. The daily blog is/was Captain Albert's I now recall.
Strophic Posted August 28, 2017 #77 Share Posted August 28, 2017 I don't read many books while on the cruise itself, but I love my kindle and audiobooks during the long drives from NC to Florida and back. My lineup so far for this year's cruise is: Into Thin Air - Jon Krakauer The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood A Game of Thrones - George R. R. Martin The Selfish Gene - Richard Dawkins The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins Stuff: Compulsive Hoarding and the Meaning of Things - Randy O. Frost All Quiet on the Western Front - Erich Maria Remarque I probably won't read/listen to them all, but I like to have some options that cover a variety of topics. Kathyds Posted August 29, 2017 #80 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Very good advice. Unknowingly, I did make the mistake of starting in the middle, and fell in love anyway. Wish I could have undone that mistake and started at the beginning. With some mystery novels, it doesn't matter so much, but the character development over time (as well as the sequence of events) is important for Louise Penny's Chief Inspector Gamache. Louise Penny is coming to Denver for a book signing next month and I'm hoping to go! She is one of my favorites!
