jabrown40 Posted June 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2017 As posted on the Oceana board, it appears that the Miami Herald has published details of the new policy which will be revealed later today by President Trump. Although there will be restrictions on individual travel to Cuba, it seems that cruise lines will be exempt from the restrictions. They also mentioned that visitors to Cuba will need to keep a log of what they did while in Cuba to show that they were there for people to people visit or educational purposes. So keeping my fingers crossed that this is how it will play out, and will still be able to make a cruise! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sandrolin Posted June 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2017 Can someone tell us if Viking has gotten the approval to dock in Cuba . We are considering canceling because a substitute port holds no interest. Today is June 20. Any news or confirmation. Thanks in advance.

We are considering canceling because a substitute port holds no interest. Today is June 20. Any news or confirmation. Thanks in advance. As of today they are not. Although they have applied and Viking, along with a line called Grand Circle, who has also applied, but have not received permission according to this Cruise Critic article dated June 14th: http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=2703 Early last week Victory Cruise Line received their permission, prior to the Trump announcement. The article does list the current approved options for sailing to Cuba (except Victory). We have booked a back-up cruise, not including Cuba, if the Viking approval fails by our cancellation deadline since we already bought non-refundable air to/from Miami.
