cwbabe48 Posted June 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Since there was not a lot of choices for our excursions, this sounded appropriate for our first time in Norway. Can anyone give me some insight. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Forums
pete98 Posted June 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2017 You can easily walk there in 10 minutes instead of booking an existing. We didn't visit the center, as we hiked instead, but people seemed pleased with it. Several hiking trails from the center. Ine Posted June 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Check this website with various tours offered (not those by the ship). By van, limousine, bike, electric car, kayak etc. http://www.geirangerfjord.no/bus-turer-i-geiranger-
Morgans Posted June 17, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Geiranger is lovely, small and easily doable on your own. The fjord centre is walkable from the small town and is a pleasant, uphill walk - as has been said about 10 mins but longer if you take your time and view the scenery on the way. There is a museum exhibition about life and history in the area, a beautiful shop and cafe. We enjoyed it. You will have plenty of time to see the small town too if you don't wish to do an excursion.
