my conspiracy theory

Okay--I've figured it out. The "frequent flyers," who will do anything to cruise, are bribing the crews to give bad service to just enough suite passengers to improve their odds of a) an upgrade or b) lower prices. Then they stir up folks who have complaints or minor defects they want to report (the ships' defects, not the folks') so that the complainers get really angry with anyone who even likes Princess and go cruise on RCCL or Celebrity. The plan is that things will soon go back to the way they were--great last minute deals, upgrades, stewards with time on their hands to make cute little towel animals, etc., etc.
