Booking confusion

Recommended Posts

I have never heard of the cruise line letting your deposit sit for 4-6 weeks in "limbo" while you wait and decide if you want to take your cruise or cancel it. That's the reason there is a final payment date, and so many people see prices drop after final, when people holding reservations cancel without penalty the day before they are due.

If the lines were to do this, then no one would pay on time, and everyone would put in a deposit, and call and say they needed more time to decide if they wanted to take their cruise and can you hold my deposit for 4-6 weeks until I decide, along with holding my price and not charging me any penalty.

I don't know why a phone rep would tell them anything other than (a) you are already past final payment, and if you don't make your payment today, you forfeit your deposit, or (b) we might be able to extend final a day or two, but if you cancel, you lose your deposit.

I'm sorry.
