bakersdozen12 Posted July 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Unless you are extremely high maintenance and hard to please, you won't be disappointed sailing on any Carnival Cruise ship. Or on any other cruise line's ship, for that matter. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Crusin Hogs Posted July 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 3, 2017 It's better than Conquest class ships ,Not as nice as The Breeze ..same class as the Breeze ,but a different designer did the Breeze
blissfulgirl Posted July 3, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted July 3, 2017 With that attitude yes. Why would you ask this question? Attitude has noting to do with it! There are many classes/lines out there and cruising is not always cheap with the family. I want the best experience possible for the price we would be paying. In my opinion this was not an unreasonable question. Not sure your opinion/comments is what I am looking for.

Hoosierpop Posted July 3, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Put me down as someone that ranks the ship behind other things like cost, cruise length, itinerary, and timing. Sure, something unexpected may happen that would create a problem (like your shower doesn't work) but that could happen on any ship. If you got a good price, the timing you want, and an itinerary you want on the Dream, take the cruise and have a great time. mrpayroll Posted July 4, 2017 #12 Share Posted July 4, 2017 We cruised Oasis this past May. This would be our first Carnival experience. Been on both and the Dream is no where near the Oasis. Not saying it is bad, just not in the same ballpark.
Sixtytwo Posted July 4, 2017 #13 Share Posted July 4, 2017 There was one issue we had with Dream in January...smoke in and around the casino area! You had to walk through a good portion of the casino to get beyond it and the smoke was really bad. But, after it's refurb, I have not seen folks complain about it so maybe that was fixed. Other than that, Dream was a hit with us and we are definitely planning another cruise on her!

E@syPe@zy Posted July 4, 2017 #17 Share Posted July 4, 2017 There are probably a lot of factors to take into consideration. The Oasis will be more expensive. You could probably drive to New Orleans and save airfare to Ft. Lauderdale. Again Saving $$. There will be less passengers on the Dream, but the ship is a lot smaller. I believe the Carnival Vista will have more activities for your children than the Breeze. It won't be the same experience as the Oasis and it really depends on what features of the Oasis are important to your family. And sometimes you just have to compare prices and decide if a bit more is worth it to you and your family. If it means the difference in going on a cruise or staying at home, then going on a cruise on a different cruise line would win out for me. There is nothing wrong with Carnival. We used to cruise with NCL and tried Carnival and really like it. You might look at NCL also. Their newer ships have a lot to offer. Good luck with your decision and Happy Cruising. cruisinlawn Posted July 4, 2017 #18 Share Posted July 4, 2017 You would have a great time though as others have pointed out, don't compare it to the Oasis. We sail all lines for various reasons...ship, itinerary, cost, departure port, etc. Also as mentioned compare the cost and logistics of boarding each. Personally, for us, it's not worth the additional $$'s, RCL has alot to offer though many of the activities/venues we do not partake in. IMO, I think it is very difficult to compare any ship to the Oasis class other then another RCL ship. Carnival has a great product for the money and I say go and reach your own conclusion. Enjoy :)

We cruised on Oasis just hubby and I and both have different options on if our boys would have enjoyed it or not....it was a lot to pay and activities were plentiful for the two of us but I know everyone's opinion are not the same. People cruise for many different reasons. Some cruise for the ship and accommodations while others cruise one for the itineraries, etc. I like reading and hearing other points of views. Can be helpful. Thx again.
meatloafsfan Posted July 4, 2017 #24 Share Posted July 4, 2017 Thx. I have viewed some just looking for some additional options on this ship.... Sent from my iPhone using Forums Perhaps if you posted a little more detail, people wouldn't be so quick to jump on your post. Why are you concerned about being disappointed? What did you like about your other cruise? What are the ages of your boys - are they active? do they like the kids clubs? are they social or generally stick with mom and dad? What kind of cabin are you looking to book? Is there anything you're really interested in (shows, food, port stops, day time activities, pool and water features, other active stuff, other less active stuff)? If you book the Dream and expect bumper cars and ziplines and flow riders - then yes you will be disappointed because that ship doesn't have those things. If you're looking for a decent amount of space, good food and a variety, waterslides, fun activities for both kids and adults, comfortable beds and good ports - then I'd say you probably won't be disappointed. It's difficult to provide advice if we don't know anything about your likes or dislikes.
