PaperSniper4 Posted July 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2017 We are thinking Discovery or Carambola for our St Kitts visit. Looking for a relaxing day where we can sip some drinks and maybe snorkel for a bit. I haven't see a word about the snorkeling at Discovery, but sounds like in general the snorkeling opportunities in St Kitts aren't all that great. Anyone snorkeled at both places? How was it? How about the food and drinks, transportation to/from the ship, etc. Thanks.
paul58 Posted July 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2017 People do snorkel on South Friars Beach near Shipwreck. It is at the opposite end of the beach from Carambola. You are correct in saying that St Kitts is not really known as a snorkeling hot spot. Food & drink are available at several places along the beach. Taxi service is readily available from Port Zante. unionville3 Posted July 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2017 We are currently here for 10 nights. Shipwreck has been the only place we had success at snorkeling - and it wasn't great.... We did night kayaking with glass bottom boats last night and actually spotted sea turtles in front of Carambola. Not sure if that's a frequent thing or not. Strangerush Posted July 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2017 We LOVE Shipwreck Bar on South Friars Beach. It's on of our most favorite places that we have ever been. There is a small reef area you can snorkel. We've seen fish but nothing super exciting. The view of Nevis is incredible, the beach is pretty...I would recommend it.
