Where do you go if you miss Coco Cay?

We are going to Coco Cay in March on the Radiance. I heard if it is rough seas they are not able to tender us there. Would we go to another island or have another sea day? We are only going to St. Thomas and St. Martin with 3 sea days already. It would be fun to see another island.

We were on a 3 day Sov. in December a couple years ago & missed Coco Cay due to bad weather conditions. The Capt. then announced we also had a medical emergency onboard so we were headed for Freeport. He wasn't sure whether we would be allowed to spend anytime docked there after the person with the emergency was taken off, but we ended up with about 5 hours to spend there. I think normally though on the short cruises if you miss Coco Cay you just have the extra Sea Day.

On our Grandeur cruise, we were supposed to go to Cococay, then Key West, then Cozumel. Cozumel was out, so they took away Key West and added Grand Cayman. They needed the extra time to get all the way down there. Then we couldn't stop at Cococay, so they added Key West back in, but a day early. I don't think this is a feasible substitute on an Eastern itinerary.

Thanks for the quick reply. Wouldn't four seas days get kind of old quick?

It depends on the individual. We happen to love sea days and some of our favorite cruises have been transatlantics with five sea days in a row. On sea days there are usually plenty of activities scheduled to fill the time and in good weather, the pools are very popular.

In the event you can't get into Coco Cay, you may go to Nassau or Freeport or have another day at sea. It will depend a lot on your itinerary and whether or not there is a nearby port that can accommodate you on that particular day. It took us about four different cruises before we finally were able to get to Coco Cay, but we loved every one of those cruises regardless.
