Purchased inside cabin, l2 cat on 6/21/17 but still do not have cabin assigned. TA says they waiting on MSC. Anyone else have similar experience?

You purchased a gty and you don't sail for 7 months, relax.

Have been on 30+ cruises and have always picked cabin within 3 days of booking. TA says msc is different than other cruise lines. I do not have gty or "run of the ship" since that would have been $800 per cabin cheaper.

For MSC bookings, I have always either selected the cabins at booking, or been offered a 'guarantee' cabin (which would also be booking code I2). Not sure what the $800 price difference is - I guess this is the difference between bella and fantastica service levels - 'guarantee' cabins are sold for both service levels, but this is transparent when booking.

You could do a dummy booking on MSC website, see which cabins are available (I looked on UK website and saw 8 or so I2 cabins available - e.g. 1125, 1192 etc - for this cruise). Then you could ask your TA. Or just wait and see what you get...
