Train from Whittier to Denali Lodge

Hi everyone! I'm currently in Skagway on the Coral Princess. So awesome! Two days of scenic cruising left then on to Denali. I'm wondering if there's a certain side of the train I should try for on our ride up to the lodge? Or perhaps it's assigned and we don't have a choice?

Our seats were assigned,. I think either side has great views.It's a long ride and the scenery changes. They also have a narrator telling you about what you're seeing.

If you have an option sit on the left side headed north. The train travels along Turnagain Arm with exceptional views of the water and the Kenai Mountains from the left side of the train. Also, further north towards Denali, Denali will be out the left side windows if visible and not shrouded in clouds.

 

Even sitting on the right side is fine as you’ll be able to get up and move around.
