shipster60 Posted July 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2017 I keep reading on other posts about the lack of activities on sea days. We are sailing infinity in November and will have about 5-6 sea days. Can someone who's recently been on infinity comment? AmberCascades Posted July 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2017 We were on the Infinity at the beginning of this year. It was the Antarctic cruise so we had 9 sea days and 4 port days (!!) Alejandro was the cruise director and he always had something going on. I don't know if it's because there were so many sea days and I don't know if it's just because that's Alejandro's way. I've never seen so much activity on any of our other Celebrity cruises. I can't say if any of this would be the same for you, and a lot of the activities were led by his assistants, but there was salsa dancing on the pool deck most days, rehearsals for the passenger/crew talent show (there isn't one on all cruises) which took up a lot of my husband's time :) ), painting classes, the usual trivia, bingo, etc., Alejandro led a bunch of people in a soccer game up on the activities deck. We also had 3 speakers on that cruise - MickeyLive, plus a former park ranger and a guy who worked as a writer in Hollywood. It seemed there was always something going on, but I didn't participate in most of it as I prefer more solitary pursuits. :) I think a lot of it depends on the CD and their team. We had a different CD for our Panama Canal cruise, but it seems to me that there were a lot of activities to fill the sea days.
srdancer Posted July 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Did south America cruuse on Infinity Feb-March, 2016. 6 sea days. Did line dancing, trivia, lectures, pool, listened to music in various venues. For those who like it there is shopping, casino, spa, various sports. We went to "real" lectures, not ones where they were trying to sell products and services.
shipster60 Posted July 19, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Thanks for the quick reply. I like some down time too but enjoy some activities other than trivia on sea days. I wonder who the CD will be? This will be a panama canal cruise.
AmberCascades Posted July 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2017 We will be on the Infinity again (4th time?? We love her.) this October for a Pacific Coastal. We've already done that cruise (once on Infinity, once with Princess) but we miss the crew and the ship. So we are going again just because. :) We are hoping Alejandro is still there. Some people found him annoying, probably because he is so high-energy, but we enjoyed him.

We had Mickey Live on our Alaska cruise and his talks were great. We wished there were more hours in the day on Infinity so we could have squeezed in more. phoenix_dream Posted July 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2017 I was very concerned about the 8 sea days on our Panama Canal cruise (counting the crossing) on Infinity this past April, but when all was said and done I had a great time. There were a number of activities going on, but honestly I spent more time just chilling out with a good book sitting on the balcony.
shipster60 Posted July 19, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Thank you everyone. Phoenix dream that's the cruise I'm taking and the number of sea days does seem like a lot. I was just getting concerned with all the comments about lack of activities. We're going eastbound. Any other advice for the cruise, including shore excursions?
