nonni2 Posted July 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Our ship (HAL Westerdam) will have an overnight in Athens on our 55th anniversary. It would be memorable to look back on an anniversary dinner in Athens, but we have limited knowledge and appreciation of Greek food, and would have to do some research to find a restaurant, and take a taxi to and from. So, we're debating: take a chance and go for the Athens adventure or have lovely (but easy & safe) dinner in the Pinnacle Grill. Please share your experiences and help us make this decision! Thanks, in advance!
leongcpa Posted July 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2017 We had a fantastic dinner at Xenios Zeus at the top of the Mnisikleous street - the "restaurant steps". Highly recommend. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g189400-d4428621-Reviews-Xenios_Zeus-Athens_Attica.html
grace#11 Posted July 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2017 GB Roof at the Grande Bretagne hotel would be nice for an anniversary dinner - get a table with a view of the Acropolis. Happy Anniversary! http://www.gbroofgarden.gr/en/gallery
wheezedr Posted August 5, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2017 I would absolutely recommend one of the restaurants with a view of he Acropolis and time your meal so that the sun sets and you continue as the lights come on. Remember Europeans tend to dine late and you can hold a table all night. I would suggest Strofi, on a street at the base of the Acropolis just up the road from the Museum. Beautiful view and wonderful food. You will need to make reservations well in advance. This is from personal experience last year. There are many others but be sure you get something with a rooftop view.
