elklemi Posted July 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2017 I will be taking my first Star Clipper cruise in March leaving from St. Marten, I usually fly in to port one day ahead but boarding does not start until 4 PM and wonder if I do fly in early how to spend 4-5 hours with luggage before I get on board? I am leary about waiting to fly in day of cruise and risk missing the ship. Sure others have faced this question and looking for any suggestions, thanks. john watson Posted July 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2017 Have you selected an hotel which will be able to look after your luggage post checkout and you can go back and get it. Regards John
elklemi Posted July 29, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted July 29, 2017 Not yet but that seems like the best option for sure.
robbie21 Posted July 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2017 It's been a while since we boarded in St Maarten but my recollection is that Star Clipper had a check in table when we arrived late morning and they stored the bags until late afternoon boarding. We taxied to the port, checked in and then took the shuttle back into town and shopped around for a while. There is lots of shopping in the port area, too. It's actually quite a nice tourist port area. You might call the main office for confirmation of current policy.
elklemi Posted July 30, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted July 30, 2017 Perfect Robbie 21 that is the kind of info i was hoping past cruisers had experienced. Would rather do that than ask hotel to store luggage go out and back and then to port. I will contact them on Monday and see if they till will check bags early.
