Administrators Rare LauraS Posted December 1, 2005 Administrators #1 Share Posted December 1, 2005 We've been contacted by a reporter working for a national magazine who is looking to interview travelers who have been on cruises that visited Micronesia or Iwo Jima. If you could call or e-mail the writer as soon as possible that would be great, since he is working on a tight deadline. The writer can be reached at 212 373-9364 or nrothbaum@hearst.com." Druke I Posted December 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2005 I do believe that the Princess cruises that include Iwo Jima are in fact only cruise by - no port call involved. They do make stops in Micronesia on their Pacific Theater, WW2 cruises. When we did it on Sky Princess, 9-00, they skipped Guadalcanal, as there was a local uprising in progress (quelled by Aussie troops/police), and substituted Vanuatu. Great cruise, that Pacific Theater, WW2, although itinerary is different now than then.
