sp29488 Posted December 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2005 If I wanted to get a piece of cake or cookies and it's 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. Where would I go? (We are cruising on Liberty)
mojean Posted December 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2005 Room service. It's free and they're 24 hours, except last night. Just tipping upon arrival. I don't think they have cake, but they definitely have the cookies and brownies.
msolberg Posted December 2, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2005 There is usually a dessert bar in the alternative dining area late at night. I am not a big dessert eater but have passed by them frequently while going from one bar to the next. :D
cheshyrkat Posted December 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2005 The room service brownies are so good! You should try them no matter what time you order.
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted December 2, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2005 The room service brownies are so good! You should try them no matter what time you order. I, until the last year or so, was also a fan of the brownies - though on the last few cruises I have found them to be rather dry/cake like/bland... I like heavy/chewy/fudgy brownies (like they were in the PAST). After getting back to the cabin on the Miracle last week (around 1-2-3AM) we typically order a chicken wrap, BLT, several cookies, choc cake, "dessert of the day", skim milk (for cookies!), etc .... the PERFECT nightcap! Hit the bed, and wake up just in time for LUNCH :D Tom

cathyoo Posted December 2, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2005 My problem was not a sweet thing... I craved SALTY... Wanted pretzels, potato chips, that kind of kill ya stuff. I ended up buying a snack in the gift shop. Can you believe that???
serene56 Posted December 2, 2005 #9 Share Posted December 2, 2005 Chips and pretzels can be had from room service also... they serve them as condiments when ordering a sandwich. http://community.webshots.com/photo/114576414/114576414PfSdSF also note-- they do have dessert of the day. msolberg Posted December 2, 2005 #10 Share Posted December 2, 2005 I know what you mean about the salty stuff. I have to have popcorn at least a couple times a week. Pizza seems to be my cure all for the salt cravings while on board and like the previous poster said, they serve chips with the room service sandwiches. The BLT is pretty darn good too. cathyoo Posted December 2, 2005 #11 Share Posted December 2, 2005 I thought about ordering room service but I wasn't really hungry if you know what I mean. Just craving... I think I'll take some SALTED cashews along this time. I understand there is popcorn for the big movie that should help

Perrys100 Posted December 2, 2005 #14 Share Posted December 2, 2005 Ok, so after a long day in JAMAICA I woke with the cravings AKA munchies BAD! I mean I need it now, but did not know what it was I needed! SO I called Super hero ROOM service and said...this is room R123 and we need 2) 8's, 2)12's, 2) 21, 2)51, a couple of 24's a gimme a 15, an 18, DId I say 1 24 I mean 2)24s oh yeah and a coffe and a milk, chocolate, and I ordered a blt right. OK how long will that be? less than 5 minutes. COOl...so I went to the bathroom, heard a knock at the door wondered, whom it could be (affected short term memory) here it was room service with tons of stuff, trays stacked with covered plates, filled with sweets, salty, puffy, dopey, happy. bills blasters Posted December 3, 2005 #15 Share Posted December 3, 2005 I also had a craving for the salty snacks, especially when sitting at the bars. On the spirit, we asked the bartender in the sports bar if she had snacks, and she had them behind the counter. We got pretzels a few times and tortilla chips. You have to ask for them. There didn't seem to be any other people getting them, and lots of people stopped and asked how we got the snacks. Anyway, try at the bars if you get the salt cravings. Beach4me Posted December 3, 2005 #16 Share Posted December 3, 2005 If you're out and about looking for munchies, the casino bar is always the best. They like to keep people in the area so my experience has been that they have the best assortment. Just ask a bartender there - I've gotten chips (potato and tortilla), pretzels, a nut an chip mixture, and goldfish from the casino bar. The promenade waitresses can bring you all of the stuff listed as well since they get their drinks from the casino bar.

CorbinCatFan Posted December 3, 2005 #19 Share Posted December 3, 2005 Trust me on this..... Food will not be an issue. I love to snack. I have never had a problem on a cruise where I was needing a snack and could not get anything. Quite the opposite. I've had to loosen my belt a few notches and unbutton my pants just to get relief. Relax and enjoy....it's a wonderful ride.

Kethry88 Posted December 3, 2005 #21 Share Posted December 3, 2005 do bars still set out stuff since Norwalk Virus is around? I think that's why you have to ask for it. They can pour a fresh bowl from the container, then dump what's left into the garbage when you leave. (I would hope so, never know, though)

I got in the habit of ordering penut butter and jelly sandwiches/brownies/etc late night after drinking, but they always brought those darn chips with my PB&J sandwiches. Never seen that before. Even asked them not to do that a few times and they still brought it. Oh well.....

I only read a poster who said they paid a buck for a bag of popcorn and it was so bad he had to throw it away. I never saw munchies on a bar--but I guess I never really looked either. I will have to try this time out. Funny how each cruise we try to add something ew to try-- but i dont think we ever get around to it
bills blasters Posted December 3, 2005 #25 Share Posted December 3, 2005 We didn't see munchies sitting out at the bars either. But, we saw someone who had some. We asked at the bar, and they had them behind the bar, and gave us refills whenever we wanted. Most people didn't know you could get them. It's worth a try to ask anyway.
