Fires at Mt Vesuvius

I just read on another site about fires around Mt Vesuvius and road closures. We are scheduled to do a Mt Vesuvius hike and Pompeii excursion next month. Just wondering if anyone has any updated information, or should I change my excursion?

The road to the Grand Cone trail re-opened to cars and minivans on July 29th. As far as I know buses are still prohibited, however, so if you're on a big bus excursion it wouldn't run this week but it's a little early to be worried about next month.

There is a particularly sad line, calling the fires "a bad movie, with annual programming" each July and August. These are arson fires, there is nothing natural about them.
