kevey Posted August 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2017 Hi folks. We will be in Hong Kong in November for 1 day on the Celebrity Millennium and are interested in doing a walking tour that starts in the central area on Hong Kong Island near Central Market. Can someone please advise if there is a free shuttle bus that takes us anywhere towards the island rather than Kowloon and/or best/quickest way to get there. Thanks
mustafabalcony Posted August 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2017 We're going on Millennium from Hong Kong in February, so have looked at the cruise terminal website. It shows a ferry from the cruise terminal to North Point on Hong Kong Island. From there you could get a tram or bus to the start of your walking tour. Rare mking8288 Posted August 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2017 Here are your transportation options @ KTCT - PMB (minibus) Route 86 to/from Kowloon Bay MTR subway train station is the fastest/easiest - less than 10 minutes. http://www.discoverhongkong.com/us/cruise/cruise-terminals/kai-tak-cruise-terminal.jsp The ferry service is nice, for weekend visitors - weekday service is mostly rush hour - see the published schedule in PDF format (every 30 to 60 minutes, otherwise - some of them skipping Kai Tai, going either directions) I advise not counting on it unless you are on an overnight port stop - still need to transfer to MTR, etc. to get to popular tourist spots. http://www.kaitakcruiseterminal.com.hk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/KTCT-ferry-notice-ENG.pdf Without luggage, 4 adults can fit in a taxi for a short ride to TST & other locations nearby, for less than $12 to $15 USD, payable in cash preferred, HKD of course - for simplicity & convenience. Grant2000 Posted August 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2017 We've taken the minibus from the new cruise terminal to the MTR station (metro) and then continued by metro dowtown. It worked out well. Hong Kong is a fabulous city and has much to see. Enjoy it! http://cruiseports.ca/asia/hong-kong.html
