hateswaterloves2cruise Posted August 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2017 We really aft balconies on the smaller ships, especially those on deck 10 because the balconies are so much bigger. We also like to go out of NYC in the winter. Next winter only the Breakaway and Escape will be going to the Caribbean from NYC. For those of you who have gone on the Breakaway does one deck have larger balconies than others?? Thanks for any input. Also for anyone who has stayed in a spa balcony (another option) a lot of them are under the workout room. Is the noise from that room a big problem?? Thanks again. foxjim1 Posted August 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2017 Can someone please comment on the motion felt with an aft balcony cabin! I'm looking for just an average sea day and would also appreciate a comment or two on what its like if you get into rough seas!
momoftwinteens Posted August 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2017 We stayed in 9918 last year. There is a video on YouTube that someone made of that shows the cabin and balcony. I highly recommend the cabin. The balcony is huge, no problem with noise from Spice H2O and perfectly situated, in my opinion. We didn't have rough seas so, I can't comment on the movement question. PelicanBill Posted August 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2017 Can someone please comment on the motion felt with an aft balcony cabin! I'm looking for just an average sea day and would also appreciate a comment or two on what its like if you get into rough seas! We found pitch motion at the aft end to be the least in the ship. You will get same roll (side to side) as everyone, but because the engine thust is back there, you get the smallest amount of up and down, as the bow (front) is doing the lunging when seas are higher. And this motion is mostly felt during open ocean sailing, such as on Breakaway from NYC for the first 2 and last 2 days.
