letsgocruising58 Posted August 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2017 I'm cruising from port canaveral on 2/4/18, coming in 3 days early and wondering if there is much to do in area or am I better off getting a hotel in the orlando area? Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.
JohninDC Posted August 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We prefer to stay in the Orlando area and drive our rental car to PC and drop it off the morning of the cruise; it sort of depends upon who is in your group and what you want to see. Unless you want 3 days on the beach before your cruise I would rent a car and explore FLA - Daytona is not that far away if you are into NASCAR
Rare Noxequifans Posted August 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2017 There is much to experience in the Orlando area. But, there can be a hit on the wallet due to entrance fees, etc. I suggest the OPs decision Orlando vs. PC area may be budget driven. In any case, enjoy. gorgotron Posted August 31, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Orlando is prob best for 3 days prior. It is a massive city with so much to explore and enjoy. Cocoa Beach and Cape area also but most of it can be done in a day or two. If you're looking for a deal check out https://www.goportcanaveral.com/ they can customize their packages which all include cruise transportation, for example I stay at the Embassy suites and got return use for after the cruise. You can call and ask for more nights, get a quote to price compare and see what works best for you. They've got quite a list of Orlando hotels. Baron2005 Posted September 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 6, 2017 Definitely stay in Orlando area for 3 days and go to the port the day of your departure. Not sure if you are coming with kids or not, but there are plenty of options...
