Herfnerd Posted August 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Was told by a couple of people that Lake View Cemetery in Seattle was closed due to concerns about protests of a Confederate monument and statue of Lenin last weekend - read that it was supposed to reopen this past Monday but have since not seen anything Does anyone in that area know what is going on? We are staying in Seattle a couple of days post cruise (9/9-9/11) and would like to go pay our respects to Bruce/Brandon Lee, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain but if its an ongoing issue...... Rare Gardyloo Posted August 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2017 As far as I know it's open with regular hours. The Lenin statue is in Fremont, Jimi Hendrix's grave is in Renton, and Kurt Cobain doesn't have a grave; his memorial park is in Aberdeen WA, on the Washington coast 2 hours' drive from Seattle. chewap Posted August 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2017 The Lenin Statute was bought to Seattle in the Freemont district, just north of downtown after Czechoslovakia became a non communist country. The statute was put up so the people of Seattle can celebrate Lenin for the killing of over 2 million opposition people in Czechoslovakia. This is the thinking of the Seattle government. They want the confederate memorial in a private cemetery removed. The Seattle Government use selective hate.

I was told that the gates were chained and locked until at least Monday.....
