If....you only ever cruised Royal but wanted to try something different...

I love Disney, I would say they have my favorite ships because the attention to detail is just breathtaking. The ships may not be as gigantic, but I love the little touches of magic here and there, plus I am a Disney fan. I have tried Carnival and Princess, not a fan of those. I tried Celebrity for the first time last year and really liked it. I would recommend them if you can find a good deal. We found an excellent deal that included alcoholic drinks and internet.

We are pretty loyal royals. That being said we tried NCL and were not keen on repeating any time soon. I have sailed X before and DH has agreed to try the Edge. Will not get DH on Disney as they don't have a casino ;(

Normally all our booked cruises are with RC but decided to try Princess next year. Also have Seaside YCRS booked. We are really looking forward to that, probably more than any of our other booked cruises.

Probably cruised about a couple of dozen times with RCI enjoyed everyone of them albeit some more than others.

Also cruised Carnival they were and fine and food in our opinion as good or better than RCI,Celebrity also which was more expensive than RCI and we thought was up a notch from RCI but maybe not worth the extra and Disney ( with the children) twice which we all thought was fabulous.

We have two more cruises booked with RCI at the moment and are looking forward to them.

However we have just cruised with MSC on two occasions and the second one being on the new Meragavilia the ship food service and entertainment was superb and for the price ( a lot cheaper than RCI) for a similar cabin was an outstanding cruise so in my honest option I think MSC will be getting a few more of our future bookings indeed we have made a booking for the new Bellisimo for 2019.

Having said that we will obviously still cruise with RCI as we enjoy our cruises with them but perhaps not so much.

Just go sail Carnival. You may find you like it better anyways. I think many would agree the overall service from the crew on Carnival is better than Royal. Their ships aren't quite as nice but still fantastic, etc. I like the Carnival itineraries better. Ultimately, you'll find the cruise lines far more similar than different. Carnival won't have the incredible mega ships that Royal does but they are still huge and awesome. Plus, Carnival is generally cheaper (sometimes quite a bit) than Royal.

I personally prefer the Royal ships and sail Royal for that reason. But to many, it's not that big of a deal and the superior Carnival service and lower cost are well worth being Carnival loyalists.

I have cruised with Princess, Celebrity, Cunard, P&O and Royal Caribbean.

Each cruise line does something which is better than everyone else. Amongst the lines I have sailed with, Royal Caribbean is the best in what it does. I hear that NCL would be a good alternative but I don't have personal experience with them.

Having tried other cruise lines, I remain loyal to Royal Caribbean when it comes to seeking a similar offering. I still cruise on other lines when I want to experience something different.
