Zion Bus Tour/Bob Marley tour

Just back last week from the Norwegian Dawn. We were in Jamaica on 11/23/05. We had to dock at the freighter dock instead of the cruise ship dock as there was an RCCL ship at the latter. We booked the Zion Bus tour through the ship. I would highly recommend this tour. The trip up into the mountains of Jamaica was very beautiful despite the overcast skies. On the way we stopped for patties and rum punch. We also stopped at a beautiful overlook for photos. Then we arrived at the Marley complex and were taken on a tour by Charlie, aka "Crazy"---yes, his nickname! We saw Bob's original home, and where he later lived, his bed and chair, and his meditation rock. We also went into the mausoleum where he and his brother are buried. Lots of people trying to sell us "ganja" there, but saying no is "no problem"!

 

On the trip back, we had beer or rum punch or soft drinks on the bus and also stopped for jerk chicken and pork.

 

By the way, because we were not on the bus that was decorated for the tour, the owner of the company came on the bus before we left for the tour and offered us to cancel or to continue on the tour. Everyone chose to continue, and to compensate for being on a different bus, they gave each of us a t-shirt and a pint of Appleton Rum!

 

We were only in port about 5 and a half hours and so we only had about 15 min to shop upon returning. We were able to go into a small shop and get a pound of Blue Mountain coffee for $15 fortunately.
