iuki Posted September 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Has anyone cruised with vertigo? Yesterday and this morning I have been experiencing vertigo. I'll be calling my doctor tomorrow. If you suffer with vertigo, how is it cruising with this awful experience?
katisdale Posted September 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2017 I had horrible vertigo. My doctor did an "Epley maneuver" which completely stopped the spinning. That was five years ago for me. Good luck, I was lucky to see an Ear Nose and Throat specialist.
Trevor Fountain Posted September 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2017 I can't claim to have any experience of sailing with Vertigo, however my late wife was allergic to some drugs typically found in seasickness medication. Her doctor prescribed her something which was meant to treat vertigo. They worked a treat and was never seasick. Maybe there is something which can really help for vertigo sufferers cruising. Sorry but I'm really no sort of expert on the subject, but definitely worth talking to a doctor I would say.
1oldcrone Posted September 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2017 I have had vertigo for the last 7 years! Not fun. I take meclazine for it daily (prescribed by the doctor.) I don't think it helps, but I don't get seasick on cruises!! BTW--it is so bad that I stopped driving and sold my car because I didn't want to be responsible for hurting someone else during a "dizzy spell."
