Lutèce Posted September 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2017 If you go on their website http://www.notredamedelagarde.com I'm sure you'll find the answer to any questions you may have. There is a button -top right - to change to English if you don't speak or read French
Lutèce Posted September 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2017 Oh and it's Basilique, not Basalique
LondonTowner Posted September 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2017 Like all churches you need to dress respectfully with shoulders covered and preferably no shorts. Sent from my iPad using Forums
GOLDENBONNY Posted September 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2017 Is there a dress code to visit? I believe every holly place has a dress cod - no shorts and covered shoulders.
roaming_kiwi58 Posted October 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2017 We were there on 17 September. They say "to dress respectfully". They were not enforcing anything the day we were there. The place was packed, queues to get in, heaps of males and females in shorts and sleeveless tops.

The tourists may get away with it in on busy days because of really crowded conditions, but that is not an excuse for disrespecting the Basilique. It is not "what you can get away with" or what can be enforced from a practical stand point, but what is respectful to your hosts and to the place of worship. roaming_kiwi58 Posted October 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 3, 2017 Marazul - I totally agree with you, and we are careful of what we wear. I was just stating what happens in reality, in response to the question.
