Cancelling when you booked with a Cruise Next Certificate

Good morning!

 

I'm looking at booking our next cruise for January 2019. Thinking about using a cruise next certificate but I'm a little nervous as 18 months out is pretty far away. If something were to come up and we needed to cancel, how does that work with a cruise next certificate? I know I need to cancel before final payment but assuming the timeline is fine I'm worried that I'd lose the certificate.

If you cancel before final they just add the certificate back to your lattitudes record, just did it myself.
