swissmiss Posted December 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2005 I am having a "celebration & get to know you" pre cruise party for a large group sailing in the New Year. Anyone have any wild or wacky suggestions for invitations, drinks, food etc?? I am going to have everyone come in "cruisewear", and my husband carves a mean melon. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Peaches1117 Posted December 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2005 Oh how much fun!!! I would love to be there! Use luggage tags for invitations (copy some that the cruise line uses), or find templates for ships or life preservers. Make rum punches, like Bahama Mama's, Yellowbirds, Miami Vices, and the standbys, strawberry daquiries and pina coladas. Decorate using tropical themes--palm trees, leis, and tropical print clothing. Serve tropical fruits, fancy canapes, salmon, etc. The Oriental Trading Company has many decorating/favor items. You can find them online. This isn't an Alaskan cruise, is it? Have a great time!
marco Posted December 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2005 I was going to suggest you have it in the back yard and on your deck, but I guess as you live in Ontario Canada, that's not such a good idea for a party in January, is it?!?!?!?!? kaytez Posted December 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Don't forget the music! Jimmy Buffet, steel drums, regae (sp), etc.
