Chalker Guy Posted December 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2005 Does anybody have first-hand knowlege of the post-wilma condition (or existence) of the small public beach and reef at Villa Blanca?
Cozumel-Ian Posted December 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2005 Not great I'm afraid. The beaches on that part of coast were hit hard and lost sand. Almost all the shallower reefs were damaged. You can still snorkel and you'll still see plenty of marine life, but the coral isn't like it was before. Best bet if you want to snorkel reef is to take a boat tour - you can take a boat from Palancar Beach in the south, they say the snorkelling there is good - or you could take a trip like the Fury Catamarans. www.cozumelinsider.com have a range of snorkel boat tours too... There is a review of the Fury tour and a report about the reefs on my website... Ian
