Easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. You exchange money at the terminal and get $87 CUC for $100 USD.

2. CUCs have pictures of monuments while CUP have pictures of people. If you get change back from a vendor, make sure you het "monuments".

3. Any CUCs you have left can be exchanged in the terminal and you will get $97 USD for $100 CUC. Check the time that the money exchange in the terminal closes, I think it is 5pm but not sure.

Have fun!

I would post this in Ports of call, but need some info for RCCL excursions.

I just booked a cruise to Cuba ,leaving in 12 days. Not much time to research and get something booked.

Normally I do not book shore excursions, but for this trip I am.

Anyone have personal experience on any RCCL tours?

Which one did you do and what are your thoughts on it?

I really appreciate any and all input..........thank you

There are some fantastic private tours. Look into OldCarTours.com. I did 2 tours with them and I LOVED them. I still email with one of the guides from my tour last year.

We are booked on Empress 12 November, so can only say this is what I have found out from research:

Money changing seems easy and is right there in the terminal

You need a visa which is $75. RCI gives it to you when you board and charges to your account

You need to meet a treasury licence category - doing a ship tour or private tour will meet the requirement. You can download the paperwork from RCI website or get it on boarding. We have booked with Blexie Havana Tours - 160CUC total for the day including 2hr walking tour and 4hr convertible classic car. Lunch will be an extra cost.

I hope that helps :) We are very much looking forward to this cruise!
