My experience as of last year on Amsterdam: Yes, lots of decorations in the MDR and Lido; the MDR podium hosts had on costumes, maybe the wait staff wore less elaborate costumes, can't recall that. A few passengers had on costumes and a there were many decorated cabin doors. Our CD Gene Young and his staff were all in costume for the party in the Crow's Nest. Enjoy, m--

It really depends on the ship and the hotel manager and captain.

We have been on a couple of ships where there were only a few decorations.

Other ships went all out. One of the best ones was the Nieuw Amsterdam -- decorations in the Lido, main dining room, Ocean Bar and Crow's Nest. Many people dressed up. There was a Pub Crawl that ended in the Northern Lights where prizes were given out for costumes and then there was a party.
