travelbound44 Posted September 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2017 Our Holland Koningsdam cruise has switched ports from St Maarten to St Croix. Never been. Only there for 6 hours. Is there a place to snorkel within walking distance of cruise pier. Did see that along that very pier is pretty decent snorkeling. Anybody done this? Thanks in advance to all that reply. Hi travelbound44. We have a pretty good Roll Call going for this cruise that you might like to join, and a Meet and Mingle set for the first sea day afternoon. Quite a few of us are snorkeling, and hope that the storms haven't done too much damage to the reefs, coral, etc..
fielddreamer Posted October 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2017 Rainbow beach has a area for snorkeling and is about 2 miles from pier. $5 cab ride and has a few places to eat. Very lay back island. We will be there in Dec. Not a lot to due but walk town and swim ! No telling what the island is like from the storm. Also, check out You Tube and you can see the island area's to dive! Bob

mcmarya Posted October 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Unfortunately, you cannot snorkel at the pier when a cruise ship is docked--securty:(
OCruisers Posted October 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2017 :( Unless things on St. Croix inprove amazingly fast ... not sure the ship will be able to dock there.
