It's been a couple of years since I've been in the hotel. Has it really gone downhill that much?

Or has it been longer than a couple of years since I've been in the hotel and it is one of the original South Beach renovations and needs an update on its update.

Is it that bad? I have an oceanfront double booked at a rate of $290 per night for 5 people. 4 adults and our 9 yr old grandson, I wanted him to be on the beach. Is it a safe place? Close enough to walk to restaurants and shopping??? Or is it bad enough that I should look at something else? Please help, I've never been to Miami so I have no clue.

Thank You

The location is fine, it's within easy walking distance of shopping and dining, but it's not a nice hotel anymore - IMO it's gotten pretty bad and needs to be completely remodeled.

Yes, I would spend a bit more and go with a nicer hotel, you'll be a LOT happier.

ALWAYS check tripadvisor.com before booking anything. Take the reviews with a grain of salt but if anything concerns you call the hotel. I booked a hotel in SoBe that I found out was between 2 of the hottest niteclubs in town. Thru the reviews I found out they issued earplugs at the front desk because of the noise. I called the hotel and they confirmed that was true - I cancelled the families booking immediately!!!!

Our dates are Jan 21-23 I've been checking at other oceanfront hotels but can't get anything close to the rate I have. We have a deluxe double oceanfront room with a balcony for 290 a night. Everything else seems to be over 300 and most of those are run of the house or city views. Any other thoughts...suggestions.

Thanks
