ghjohnson Posted June 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Does anyone know where one can get a Princess coupon booklet to use on a cruise? I am leaving 11/22/04 on Sapphire Princess and would love to have a coupon booklet! Or, If anyone of you have gone on a cruise and have a leftover coupon booklet - I would be happy to relieve you of it - if you no longer need it! dshimizu Posted June 20, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 20, 2004 I'm curious. How do you get these coupon booklets in the first place--thru TA or Princess? We have just booked a 30 day cruise on the Royal Princess and would love to have a book if it's possible to get one! Rare Coral Posted June 20, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 20, 2004 My Travel Agent was running a promotion of some sort - book a cruise during this time period, receive a coupon book. When I first walked into my cabin - there was the coupon book and a note saying it was a gift from my travel agency. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Carnival Fascination S. Lidi Posted June 25, 2004 #19 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Wow, I didn't realize these were such a big deal. We get them for our 9/25 cruise on the Caribbean Princess. It is my understanding they are the buy one drink get one free type and that they have ones for thinks like drinks and photos and the casino etc. Ours came with the deal we got on the cruise through our TA. I am pretty sure we will use them but I will certainly offer them up if we don't.
Rare Coral Posted June 25, 2004 #20 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Lidi - I had this coupon book on my last cruise. I was on the ship for 2 weeks and didn't use one coupon (so for me, it really wasn't a big deal). I sent my coupon book to a friend who is sailing soon. For those who do not have them, it may be nice to have them but it really isn't that big of deal. There is a buy one vodka - get one free (I believe), buy one mimosa - get one free, a certain $ off internet access (I get free internet being platinum), a certain $ off a certain spa package, one coupon for the onboard store if you spend over $100, one for photographs, etc . . My first reaction to the book when I saw it in my cabin was to toss it aside.
ghjohnson Posted June 26, 2004 Author #21 Share Posted June 26, 2004 When I was on other cruises, I found booklet's on our dresser and I always attributed it to be from the cruise line itself for the type of member you were. gold had cetain things, Platinum had a few more or better coupons, etc! Do you think the coupon booklets are from the cruie line themselves??? i.e.: to get you to start spending money or something?
Rare Coral Posted June 26, 2004 #22 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Royal Caribbean does provide coupon books and it does depend on what level you are. On Princess - it has nothing to do with the level that you are. It normally is when a travel agency is working with Princess on a promotion. When mine showed up in my cabin it was with a note "A gift from Nancy (name of agent) and the name of her agency". As an example - I spent 2 weeks on the Dawn Princess recently (B2B). I booked the 2 cruises about 4 weeks a part from each other. During the first cruise, I booked it during a promo time and received a coupon book. The 2nd cruise, I didn't. Twaincruisers Posted June 26, 2004 #23 Share Posted June 26, 2004 We were surprised on our Golden cruise in May to receive coupon books which came from our TA, even though it was our first time with the TA and the first time on Princess. We were curious because one coupon had been removed from each book...wondered what we weren't worthy of! No one else at our table receive a book. imsulin Posted June 26, 2004 #24 Share Posted June 26, 2004 We used to get coupon books every time we went to Vegas, and there were only one or two (usually free casino chips or a 2-for-1 dinner at some seafood place that we ever used.) Are there different kinds of Princess coupon books, or are they pretty much standard?
West Coast Posted June 26, 2004 #25 Share Posted June 26, 2004 I was sure I had read in the most recent Captain's Circle magazine (received about 3 weeks ago) that Princess was giving all (returning) Captain's Circle members these coupon books. Unfort., I tossed the magazine. Does anyone else recall reading that?
