Going to Brighton, Brandon, Paradise and Batts Rock beaches

From what I am reading and the map, I see that Brandons, Brighton, Paradise and Batts Rock beaches are just north of the cruise ship terminal. I understand that at least Brandons is walking distance from the terminal. As I'd like to go to get away from big crowds of people, enjoy some nice swimming, snorkelling and have reasonable access to food, I was thinking that heading further north to Paradise beach would be a good idea. Is it ? How far are these beaches from the cruise ship terminal ? Are these in walking distance (I don't mind walking a ways) ? Or do I take the bus/shuttle to Speightstown ?

Batts Rock is about 10 minutes from the docks. I have heard its great snorkeling, and this is were i plan on going. Paradise Beach is just at the end of Batts Rock Park.

I just checked google maps and it is 10 mins. by car (or perhaps local bus) but at 4 1/2 - 5 km. I doubt you would want to walk that.
