Chillidog Posted October 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2017 Anyone on CC been here and offer thoughts? I read a few comments and trip advisor. We love fresh fish and thought this sounded like a great place to grab lunch the day we are in GT. Also any information on the beach where it is located would be great. Thanks. Rare crewsweeper Posted October 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2017 John's is/was in Cockburntown up near the northern end. It is/was a great place to hang out and usually free of the crusing crowd, especially when 2 ships were in. Unfortunately since the 2 hurricanes roared through and ships are just now starting to head back to GT, I have no idea if John's survived or is still operating. Check their FB page https://www.facebook.com/Johns-Ocean-View-Bar-and-Ediths-Fish-Fry-1412814465633558/ We've been twice and love it. Wonderful people and delicious fish, conch fritters, cold beer and rum punch!

Pellaz Posted December 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2017 How far isit from the pier? Thanks It's up north in Cockburn (pronounced "co-burn") Town. Not really walking distance unless you're planning a "hiking day," but a quick taxi ride or quick stop in a rented golf cart or car. The island is only about 7 miles long. You'll see Cockburn Town fairly early on your approach to the dock, off the port side, and you'll be able to gauge the relative distance from the pier. miss_rach Posted January 5, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 5, 2018 We'll be in GT in a few months and might head up there to have a few cold beverages. Thanx!
PrettyHazardous Posted March 16, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Ok I was considering Jacks Shack for our group but I think this place seems much better as hubby loves fried fish and DD is not a huge fan of dogs. We just hung out on the beach close to Margaritaville last time, but I think we'll like this much better!
