aka_sally Posted December 11, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2005 I have a question - we (just two adults in party) like a glass of wine with dinner but there is no way we can finish an entire bottle between the 2 of us at dinner. Can we take open bottle back to our room with us? Thanks!
Aprille Posted December 11, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2005 Can we take open bottle back to our room with us?Sure can. The waiter will recork it for you and give you the bottle after dinner if you request it.
a1scuba Posted December 11, 2005 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2005 Hi, we just got back 12/5 - 12/10 from a Cruise on the Enchantment. My G/F and I purchased the Gold wine package for something like $115 total price. This gave us 5 bottles of wine we could order from any lounge on the ship including the casino. One night we did not finish our bottle and as stated above the waiter corked it, put it a nice bag and we took it back to the room. Also one night we were selected to dine with the Captain, and he supplied the wine!!! So we had an extra bottle that was given to us and we took it home. Was it worth the cost I think so, basically restaurant prices and selection. Gregg Deltastr@aol.com
RickT Posted December 11, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2005 Anyone know which wines are available within each package? We've looked at these before but we can't seem to focus on wines when we board so have never taken advantage of this.

RickT Posted December 13, 2005 #10 Share Posted December 13, 2005 Thank you...now I need to spend some time and figure out if I go for the package or just buy it by the bottle... Can't lose either way!
Driftwoodgal Posted January 5, 2006 #11 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Does anyone know if you are allowed to take any of the bottles that you don't consume with you? I am not sure that I can drink 5 bottles by myself and would hate to end the cruise and still have one or two unopened bottles that I paid for. shrek Posted January 5, 2006 #12 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Yes, you can take bottles home with you if you do not finish the package.
KelJ Posted January 6, 2006 #13 Share Posted January 6, 2006 We purchased the Wine & Dine package the first day on the ship right outside the Windjammer as we were going to lunch. They are also selling the soda cards there as well. In December on the Voyager, we bought the 7-bottle gold package. If you don't finish a bottle, they will cork it and you can either take it back to the room with you or else they'll save it and bring it out the next night at dinner. We only drank six of our seven bottles, and we gave the last one to our waiter instead of us dragging it home. He seemed to really appreciate it. I believe you can only buy the Wine & Dine package and the soda cards on the first day of the cruise.

Driftwoodgal Posted February 4, 2006 #15 Share Posted February 4, 2006 Just off the Brilliance of the Seas, they will be changing some of their wines from the wine list in a few weeks. It seems that the temperature at the port of Miami have had them reconsidering some of the wines because of temperature control. Some of the wine has had some problems as the wine sits on the dock without refrigeration for a period of time. They told us what wines at the wine tasting, but I didn't write the names down. crusinKimmie Posted February 6, 2006 #16 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Does anyone know the cost of a single glass - like for a Beringer Chardonnay?
Shami Posted February 7, 2006 #17 Share Posted February 7, 2006 If I remember correctly, the Wine & Dine package was still being sold even after embarkation day. We were sent to the main dining room as our Muster station during the drill. I checked the wine list on the table for prices of bottles offered in the Wine & Dine program. I picked the wines that I would like and then chose the level package that offered those for the least price. I also made sure to order only the more expensive bottles offered in the package. And again, as others have said, drink what you want with dinner and the waiter will bring out the unfinished bottle the next night.
