hac82 Posted November 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2017 We are looking for restaurants in Charlotte Amalie that are considered "local favorites" as opposed to "tourist favorites". We are looking for real local flavor as we believe the best way to experience a port is to be with the people that live in the port. Local flavor and cold beer along with warm smiles go a long way to making lasting memories. Does anyone have any ideas?
Ms411 Posted November 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Crabbe's on Back Street is fairly new but the locals have known the chef from his previous restaurants. It's not inexpensive, though. Sugarcane Grille in the Bunker Hill Hotel is another good option. They recently opened a new deli at street level. Across from the courthouse is a tiny eateries with just a few outdoor seats. Karen's Place is the name, I think.
2PinaColadas Posted November 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2017 Dog House Pub or Tap & Still in Havensight. Big Kahuna is not too far away either. All are fun places where locals and tourists hang out. Good drinks too. However, I'm not sure they are open after Irma. May want to Google. atb Posted November 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2017 no food - but the Dockside Bar at Havensight Mall makes the best bloody marys. Totally from scratch. Hoping to see them back in business when we get there in December.
Argus Posted November 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2017 We have been to Big Kahuna's many times. Great atmosphere, staff, menu and location. Can sit outside and watch the world go by. Sent from my iPad using Forums
