Yes, worth the effort and $$ if you like seafood and Italian seafood in particular. We did it for lunch, not wanting to miss a dinner and that was the right move because it was nearly empty and service was great as a result.

Thanks for the info. I am going solo and plan to get there at least once for dinner and want to savor every morsel. Not sure which evening would be best though. It's one of those things that you don't want to miss certain evenings with the traditional dining folks. I might try lunch first. So much to do and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks again

No lunch is just more convienent, same food, same price $20. We didn't do it our first Diamond Cruise, did do it on the second, it was so nice we wish we had on the first one and will do it on all three of the upcoming sailings.

DH will be celebrating the big "50" on our cruise, so we thought we would try Sabatini's for the occasion. From what I've been reading, it's sounds wonderful and well worth the money. We've paid much more at a very popular local seafood restaurant.

Question for Steve, did you tip extra at Sabatini's. Want to make sure I know what to expect and don't want to stiff the waiters if it's required or is it a personal choice to do so.

What if you don't like seafood? My husband loves seafood, so he'll be fine, but I won't touch the stuff. It sounds like they have so much to choose from that I won't starve (like that could ever happen on a cruise), but I just want to make sure they'll have something I'd eat. Thanks!

I would say it is about 75-80% seafood, there are chicken and beef dishes as entrees but nearly all of the other courses rely on seafood as the main protein.

Just returned from cruise on Star Princess to Med. They were no longer doing lunch at Sabatini's due to lack of interest from customers at that time. Evening is still fabulous but don't eat all day prior to 25 or is it 26 course meal. We did the full menu once. They bring you small!!! samples of everything on the menu. You only order the main course, which in my case was lobster tails. It's the only time in living memory I have actually had to leave them uneaten. We returned again later in the cruise and were more selective, only ordered 4 courses from the menu. Still delicious but did not feel incapable of moving for 3 days afterwards.

Enjoy!!

Wow, it's sounds wonderful. Now I have another question. What is the dress code for Sabatini's? Are jacket and tie required for men or do they follow the suggested attire for that evening.

Same as the rest of the ship that day, no special dress code.

Just off the CP.
I ate at Sabatini's and I don't think it was worth the $. I have eaten in several alternative restaurants on Carnival, Celebrity etc and I don't think that Princess was up to those levels for the $20 per person charge. They need improvements here. Lots of food Quanity but the quality could be better. I don't think that warmed up pasta should be served. I would expect that they would make fresh pasta etc. in this setting. Most of the food looked mass produced-nothing special. I was disappointed. In the old days, Princess had fresh pasta served by the Dining Captains at your table, in the dining rooms.
I would recommend Sterlings if you like steak. The food at Sterlings was well presented and served appropriately. The charge was $15 there. Trying to save money, there are no longer any Wine Servers and your waiter now takes care of the beverage order making it slower in service. There is definately fewer waiters and busboys in the dining rooms. Wuite noticable on this cruise.
Everyone has their own opinion on food.

Days Remaining until the
Carribean Princess
