Help - Scuba Diving Questions

We will be sailing on the C.P. on August 21st. We will be on the Western itinerary. Our ports are Princess Cays, Montego Bay, Cozemel and the Grand Caymans. My DH loves to scuba dive.

Any suggestions as to where the best place to dive is.

Which are the good tour operators?

Do you recommend a private dive operator or an excursion from Princess?

I am a instructor p.a.d.i and i would recommend booking through princess there pricing is a little higher then you could book on your own, but the quality of there vendors is very good. there is no diving on princess cays and i would not dive mo. bay. i would however recommend diving in the caymans and cozumel [GREAT DIVING]try the cayman stingray dive it was a blast.. ps if possible bring your own mask/fins

....and regulator. I agree with the above. Cayman and Cozumel have great diving, and there are a ton of private dive operators at both locations. You can do a Google search to find them. Be careful about getting back to the ship on time, though!

I think that what my husband would really like to know is about some specific sites that you have dived in Cozemel and Grand Cayman and which ones you would recommend.

Any thoughts???

I did dives from the the ship in Grand Cayman and Cozamel.The dive was great at Grand Cayman but there were lots of divers on the boat. The Prices were were posted at the dive shop in Cozemel and Man did we get Gouged!!!!!The equiptment in Cozemel was kinda scary.
I would suggest going to the "scuba boards" and ask Burbunny or BruceJr..I followed their advise in St Thomas and had a great dive!!!

I just dove in Grand Cayman and I booked via the ship. Princess works with Don Foster and I really liked their operation. And they had a videographer on board so I was able to purchase a video of my dive. Overall I was very pleased with the operator that Princess selected!

I always try not book with the ship and have found great private vendors in the Caribbean and the South Pacfic to dive with. Go to the CC Scuba Board for more recommendations for private dive operators you won't be sorry!!
