dwing18 Posted November 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Hello I am considering booking a 4J on the Magic. I am concerned about the noise and motion. Please share your thoughts.

tmg698 Posted November 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2017 We had one on Lido deck last year and loved it. Probably the best cabin we ever had. Very quiet and just right outside our door was the door to the deck outside.
trueblue91652747 Posted November 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2017 We've stayed in several 4J cabins on decks 6 and 7 on different ships and haven't noticed any noise issues and we dearly love the cabins.
tw67 Posted November 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2017 We are doing our first 4J next month. We will be on Liberty. I really hope we like it since we have another 4J on Glory next year!!

CalaDragonflyLady Posted November 18, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I seek out 4J's whenever possible, deck 6 is fairly central in the ship so it just depends on how sensitive you are to the motion. I've felt the sway much more on decks 10 - 12.
deliver42 Posted November 18, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Pardon my ignorance, but what is a 4J?
dwing18 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted November 18, 2017 A 4J is an inside cabin at the front of the ship that has a window. They are usually over sized. They face a public deck, so people can look into your room.
OceansOfTravels Posted November 18, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I have been in a 4J on about half of my Carnival cruises. I have not heard too much noise, nothing that made me crazy. It's obviously not as silent as an interior stateroom sandwiched between two passenger decks, but it isn't below a casino either. Most you may get is a big gust of wind. However, they can get a tad rocky, as you are right on the bow. Luckily, my cruises that I had a 4J on have been relatively calm, and even if I began to feel sick, I would be rocked to sleep quickly and would be better by morning. I would recommend booking a 4J, you get the value of an inside room without having to be in a cave.

MalleyCat Posted November 20, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 20, 2017 We love 4J's. We've never felt any motion and have always been under the bridge. No noise at all...except for the banging of the door going outside!
