lkmamom Posted December 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2005 Thanks ahead for your patience if this question has been answered previously. I have looked but cannot find the answer I am looking for.....Are there beaches and shopping within walking distance of the ports or should we plan for shore excursions? I know that my husband and son are going to want to hang out at the beach instead of shopping and I would like to do a little:o shopping and not always be at the beach. Any advice would be very appreciated thanks! Linda
Moondawgie Posted December 13, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2005 Linda, you may want to check out the Mexican Riviera Ports of Call section. They have lots of the information you are looking for.
RBCal Posted December 13, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2005 You can easily walk to Cabo for shopping. In Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan you'll want to catch cabs which are plentiful and pretty cheap.
RBCal Posted December 13, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2005 I forgot to say that Cabo has the worst and most expensive shopping. Both PV and Mazatlan have better shopping. However, I found Mazatlan to be the cheapest even for identical items.
stones902 Posted December 13, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2005 As the previous poster said...Cabo in walking distance (after tendering on shore) but Matz and PV require a cab. Same with the beaches. The shopping is not the equivalent of the Caribbean. You might be disappointed with the selection if you are looking for watches / jewelry. These are good ports for sightseeing and active excursions.
